DIY Swimsuit Side Boob Bathing Suit Tutorial
I know the summer is almost over but it's not all the way over! I finally put together the DIY for the swimsuit I made last year and finally got to wear it just last weekend. The fit is awesome and I only had to fix the straps like a million times, but it came together exactly how I wanted it. I hope it makes sense. It was a little difficult to explain.
Best for use with 4-way stretch swimsuit fabric
with at least 50% or more stretch in both
directions. For example, Nylon spandex stretch
Swimsuit Cut List:
Front - Cut on the fold - Cut 1 main fabric & Cut 1 lining fabric
Back - Cut on the fold - Cut 1 main fabric & Cut 1 lining fabric
Straps - Cut 2 - ABout 16" long and 1"wide + add seam allowance
Sewing Tools:
Zigzag/stretch stitch Sewing machine or Serger
Thread
Pins or clips
Fabric marking pen or chalk
Scissors or Rotary cutter
Measuring ruler or tape
Main Ingredients:
Swimsuit Stretch Knit Fabric with at least 50% stretch 4 ways
Swimsuit Lining fabric with at least 50% stretch 4 ways
My methods of sewing and patternmaking are not always traditional and rarely by the book. Sometimes I do things in my own way because it just works better for me. In sewing or anything creative I'm all for breaking a rule or two and trying new tricks and if they work then I stick to that method. :)
